Zotero is ...
... a literature reference manager. Software that helps you with to collect (descriptions of) articles in your own or shared 'library', to search that and in your writing refer to articles in the demanded citation style (e.g. APA 7). Recommended and supported by Saxion Library for the following reasons:
Privacy by design, GDPR-proof (unlike Mendeley, which Saxion forbids)
Powerful and easy to use
Active community
Open source, Open Science
Use of Zotero is free
When you actually start to use Zotero, please also use the next pages of this Library Guide. A number of specific databases, search strategies and APA-guidelines have their own Saxion LibraryGuide
Retrieve references from as near to the source as possible, preferable via identifiers (DOI, ISBN, etc.), but do realise that even then there can be errors to manually repair; so keep paying attention.
There's a lot of useful material about Zotero available on-line. A particularly good example, that also touches upon things people tend to get stuck on, is Zotero 6 Quick Pc 20 Min Tutorial
