Information about e-books in the collection of Saxion Library

Ebsco is not only a database containg journals and articles. It is also a platform offering thousands of e-books. Only e-books for which Saxion Library holds a licence can be accessed.

Authentication To read e-books, you need to be logged in. Use your Saxion account.
Borrow Yes. Most e-books can be read online or borrowed for up to 2 days (= full download). However, a small number cannot be borrowed. This is displayed in the e-book description.
Number of users The number of users that can simultaneously read an e-book is different for each e-book, varying from a single user to unlimited. You can always find this in the e-book description at 'Concurrent user level'
Renew Not applicable
Reservation If an e-book is in use, you can make a reservation. To do so, you have to create an account in the EBSCO environment.

This varies per e-book. You can always find this in the e-book description at 'Publisher Permissions'.

Create an account

If an e-book is in use, you can make a reservation for it. To reserve, you must first create an account with Ebsco.

Advantages of creating an account:

  • you can make a reservation for an e-book if it is in use
  • you can save parts of the e-book in your folder
  • you can add an e-book as a favourite
